Ragnarok 2: Closed Beta Testing

A few months ago, someone in my Facebook network shared a post regarding Ragnarok 2 LOTS. At that time, I wasn't really aware of RO2: Legend of the Second. What I know about is RO2: The Gate of the World which according to "some" people was a total let down. I don't know much about it though because the game is only available in Korea. When I first saw RO2 LOTS, I fell totally in love with the 3D graphics. I've been so familiar with the 2D sprites of RO1 that sometimes I just get tired of it. *_* Don't get me wrong.. I totally loved RO1 and I think pixel animation is pretty but sometimes I really wish that there'd be more customization options for players like changing the character's clothing appearance depending on what equipment he/she is wearing. *.*

I've been waiting for updates about the beta release of RO2 LOTS and a week earlier before the said release, I was really excited to play it even though the game is 3.8 GB big. *_* Dec. 7 finally came and I downloaded the game installer for almost 3 days. Due to download traffic and other technical issues, the game site and forum were down for maintenance. Sadly, I only got to try the game on the last day of the CBT. -_-

I usually go for acolyte or mage class in mmorpgs. Here in RO2 I figured that it would be difficult to solo as an acolyte so I made a mage character instead. One of the awesome features that RO2 offers for its players is the ability to take on a profession like being an artisan, an alchemist, a blacksmith and a cook. Alchemists and blacksmiths are already common in RO1 and we almost see them everywhere and cooks are also like Genetics. I chose to be an artisan because I like the thought of my character crafting equipment, accessories and fancy stuff. =)

This is my mage, Keina, grinding a few levels and aimlessly slaying Baby Porings. The monsters in RO2 are stronger compared to RO1. Baby Porings are only level 1 monsters and they are the weakest ones in the game but it takes about 4 to 5 hits before killing one unlike in RO, hit them once or twice and they're squished. -_-

This is the Kafra lady for RO2. She looks so pretty like the girls in a Maid Cafe. lol. =) The Kafra service offers the same functions such as item storage, save point though I'm not sure yet if it lets you teleport to other places.

This is one of the quest NPCs offering you some decent equipment for finishing her quest. =)

I stopped playing at level 7 because there's really no point in playing when my progress will be deleted anyway. -.- I was happy to hunt some cards from the monsters -  flip, hornet and lunatic. Hopefully it wouldn't be that hard to hunt for cards in the game because in RO1, one of the many reasons why people bot is because the drop rate of cards is really low. -_-

Speaking of bugs, I encountered this kinda creepy character glitch while I was playing. This happens whenever I face an obstacle and look at my character's face in front view. xD Also while leveling I noticed that some monsters cannot be attacked no matter how you click them or spam them with skills.

After closed beta testing all characters and items will be fully wiped but the players are given the priveledge to keep their in game characters if they reached level 25 during CBT. Well it's a good thing for concerned players but I'm not worried about my own in game name since the ones I used are not usually common. =)

I can't wait for the Opening Beta. =) You can download RO2 LOTS here. I'll see you guys in the CBT!
